Dr Siân Cole

Clinical and Health Psychologist

DPsych(Hlth) Deakin, MPsych(Clin), MAPS, FCHP

As a clinical and health psychologist, Siân is dedicated to supporting adults with both medical and psychological conditions, helping them engage in behaviours that enhance their health performance, even when faced with the distress that illness can bring. Her extensive experience includes working in acute medical and physical rehabilitation hospitals (including during COVID), where she has assisted individuals in managing and adapting to medical illnesses, injuries, terminal diagnoses, and disabilities. Siân integrates evidence-based psychological interventions with a compassionate, individualised approach that prioritises client autonomy and holistic wellbeing.

Siân also focuses on supporting individuals experiencing trauma symptoms, persistent pain, adjustment to illness (including cancer, organ failure, and limb amputation), addiction, self-esteem issues, assertiveness, as well as anxiety and depression. She has experience treating adults with Somatic Symptom Disorder, Factitious Disorder and Functional Neurological (Symptom) Disorder, as well as helping adults with medically unexplained symptoms.

Keenly interested in working with medical and health professionals, Siân provides therapy, supervision, and clinical debriefing to assist with anxiety, burnout, and moral injury, drawing on her insights from working throughout the COVID pandemic. As a Board Approved Supervisor, she is able to supervise psychologists undertaking the Clinical or Health Psychology Registrar Program and always operates in a trauma-informed and neuro-affirmative manner.
