Therese has completed a Master of Clinical Psychology and a PhD in the field of psychophysiology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), is an Associate Member of The Australasian Sleep Association (ASA), the Sleep Health Foundation (SHF) and the National Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Through her experiences within both public and private healthcare settings, and with a background in sleep and psychological research, Therese has gained invaluable experience working with individuals across the lifespan with various and complex acute and chronic physical conditions, as well as neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative and other mental health conditions. In the therapeutic setting, Therese draws on her knowledge and skills in clinical assessment and evidence-based psychological and psychotherapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness.
Therese has a keen interest in sleep-related disorders, sleep-related anxiety, trauma, and has experience with the application of therapeutic protocols for various anxiety-related disorders, eating disorders and OCD.
Therese has a holistic, warm and welcoming approach that reflects her belief that all individuals, no matter their age, stage, creed, culture, circumstances or orientation, deserve to be treated with respect, dignity, and compassion. She endeavours to create a safe and supportive space in therapy for her clients to comfortably express themselves, and work collaboratively to achieve their goals.
